Hello friends,

Yeah I kinda disappeared in these two summer moths… June and July flew by like jets among all the uneasy stuff happening around us, back to work after quarantine, some family times and actually very little stitching…(hence no blog posts? ) But I did work in my sewing room – I organized and cleaned, even purged a little, so it’s starting to look better!! Here are some before and after photos:

What a colossal MESS!
I also re-arranged all of my beloved Art Gallery Fabrics stash – now that was fun!

My Art Gallery Fabrics stash used to be piled up kinda in collections they release, and some other random piles, but this time I decided to break it all up and sort them mostly just by COLOR. I was a bit hesitant to do that, but I actually really like it!!

ALL CLEAN!!! Now that feels good!

So now, with studio clean (at least up to some point! 🙂 ) I am in to some new things!! I am making another version of my Flower Meadow table runner that is a free pattern if you sign up for my Newsletter. I am using these lovelies I got from our local quilt shop Creekside Fabrics

If you haven’t already signed-up, give it a try? (see that tab on top, “Newsletter Sign-up”). I am still very much learning things about doing the Newsletter and likely have all kinds of blocks and silly reasons why I haven’t send another one already, but I promise I am working on it!!

Another new and exciting thing is that I am testing a new pattern for my friend Sharon Holland, called Phoenix. It will be really beautiful yet easy pattern and it’s coming out mid August – you won’t want to miss it!! Make sure you follow Sharon on Instagram and follow the hashtag #phoenixquilt to see previews on Instagram from all the testers – such different fabrics and colors we are using, so much fun!! Here is my set of fabrics – they are all Pure Solids from Art Gallery Fabrics and I am excited to do my second “all solids” quilt! (print fabric is my inspiration and it will be a backing for the quilt)

Aren’t these colors just amazing?! (there is absolutely NO filter or adjustments in this photo!!)

However, I paused my Phoenix quilt making this weekend just for a day to make a special birthday dress for our sweet granddaughter Natalie, who turns 4 tomorrow. It is a Cinderella party and I made her a Cinderella-inspired dress, but more one you can just wear every day (hey doesn’t everyone wear super-sparkly dress every day?? 😍❤️) And of course few matching accessories too… so much fun!

In other quick news – I turned 58 a week ago!! Eeek!! Well not really “eeek”, I have zero problem with my age and really never, ever felt as I am getting old…? You know those things when you freak out turning 30, or 40, or 50…. I never had those thoughts!! Not sure why, but I just don’t. Do you? Anyway – I spent this one with my daughter and our youngest grandchild, our cutie-pie Liam, over in Washington DC. He is 16 month old, full of energy, curiosity, smiles and “talk”, so you know it was super fun!! From the moment I arrived, he showed me what a big boy he is… miss him already!!

I promise to share more in-progress photos of my Phoenix quilt and promise another Newsletter very soon!

Stay safe and well,

Love,

Marija

Oh I feel incredibly lucky and grateful, trust me! He is just so, so precious and together with his two cousins – our two granddaughters (4 and 6), they are my whole world these days! Besides that, working on some quilt patterns, of course! 🙂 Thank you so much for your kind words, glad you are staying safe and healthy!
