Hi everyone,

It seems that we finally have blooms coming over here in Buffalo! It has been a cold and rainy spring…

While roses are still in buds, some peonies are finally opening…

I am super excited this year for two of them – a true red peony just started – look at that beauty !!

And my yellow peony is finally full of buds – I can’t wait!!

And just as in the garden, there are flowers everywhere in my sewing room too!!

EVERLASTING is a classically beautiful and yet so vibrant and modern new fabric collection by my super talented friend, Sharon Holland, (Sharon Holland Designs) for Art Gallery Fabrics.

Not too many words are needed to describe it, just look at all the photos below… just complete ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

You can just pick any combo of two or three pieces and want to make a whole quilt…

The swallows!!! 😍❤️😍 It is perfectly called Summer’s Dance.. and together with Something Blue, it is just so gorgeous!! (note to self – make something from just these two!!)

And then there is Bouquet Muse… the floral fabric that I just can’t stop loving!! And dreaming of what to do!!

Yup, you see that right – already cutting out those beautiful blooms for something coming soon!!

And it comes in this heavenly soft cotton knit!!!

You know how I love sewing dresses (and anything!) for my grand babies, but this one – this one was for me!!

Made a skirt in just few hours this past weekend!

I didn’t use a pattern, just a quick cut on the bias and added pockets – it was a really quick sew and I am so happy how it turned out.

I finished it Saturday afternoon just before going to our granddaughter Juliana’s first dance recital – so decided to dress up!! (my sweet husband said he must take a picture, hence all these photos!! )

I started to sew when I was 9, making my dolls all their wardrobe and then my own since I was a teenager. Coming to US with little kids and full time job, times were so busy and clothes here way more affordable, so my passion for sewing and creativity completely turned to quilts.

While quilting is still my main creative outlet, with our two beautiful granddaughters and now handsome little grandson, garment sewing is filling my time and my heart again…

But back to quilting now – EVERLASTING!!! I can’t stop playing and designing with this beautiful collection!!

My first project is a quilt that I will show you in full soon, together with a pattern/tutorial – YAY!!

Let’s just say it has flowers of course…

And some diamonds too…

It might not be a complete beginners project, but I promise it is easier than it looks!!

I hope you come back to take a look!!

And then, there will be more… Everlasting Blog Tour, hosted by Sharon is coming in July!!

I am off to finalize that pattern, wishing you summer days full of sunshine and flowers!

Love,

Marija
