Hi friends,

It’s been a while!!

Unlike Charley here, I am not hiding, but somehow managed to be absent from blogging world for two months now?? Really bad…

I think I will blame Instagram?? (not really). Over there, the sharing and conversations are much more instant and I somehow forget that I want to share more here too! Also, the end of summer, some travel, lots of family time…life just wips me away, doesn’t it?

But now, we are in the middle of fall here in western NY, and it has been a beautiful one!! So much color inspirations!!!

Sewing room hasn’t been abandoned of course, but you know what October means – Halloween costumes!! This year we had princess Anna in the coronation dress…

and Uni the Unicorn cape…

So much tulle, glitter and stuff… but it is all so worth it in their smiles…

On the quilting side of things – some very exciting news!!! I will have two of my patterns published next year!! Quiltmaker and McCalls Quilting, May 2020 – soooo excited!!!

And while I can’t show you the patterns now, here are at least beautiful fabrics I will use! First quilt will be completely in solids, and I am super excited to work with beautiful, silky and vibrant Pure Solids by Art Gallery Fabrics!!

Isn’t that a glorious set of colors!? I am really excited to bring this design to life.

Second quilt will be in a theme of classic, two-color quilts, but I hope my choice of pattern and fabrics will give it a fresh and modern spin… Fabrics will be several of the beautiful prints from Katarina Roccella’s Grid collection! I really love that one and have worked with it already (look on the right side bar for the Weaving It, free pattern, featuring this collection).

This time, it will be limited number of prints

So, it will be sort of a black-and-white quilt, but not completely… again, did I mention I am excited?? LOL

Some more designing has been going on, and all those beautiful colors of autumn are shining in this amazing new collection from Sharon Holland, for Art Gallery Fabrics – it is called Spirited.

Isn’t it amazing?? Gorgeous colors, amazing design, so much attention to every detail… And then there are those horses…

Horses are something that reminds me of my dad… He was a vet and loved all animals, I lost him way too early and miss him and his everlasting optimism in life… so this quilt will be for you dad. ❤️

Spirited collection just started shipping to quilt shops and I can’t wait to show you all that I will make! There is nothing more inspiring then when glorious color of nature translate to amazing fabric – Sharon completely knocked it out if the park in this one!!

It is early Friday morning while I write this, and snow is gently falling my friends… yes, snow! But that’s ok, it’s the season of warm fireplaces, cuddling and – SEWING of course! I am off to my studio right now, to steal an hour or so of productive and creative time, before it’s time to go to work.

Happy fall and all the blessings,

Marija

I thought I would let you know that after enjoying a trunk show you did for our Guild, I tried the faux piping binding – and love it! Thanks for the inspiration.
