Hi everyone!

Yes, spring is very very late to show up here… I am generally not the one to complain about the weather at all, but this cold temps (and snow flakes flying just few days ago!) were bit of a drag. However, it’s changing and the explosion of color and flowers is slowly starting, yay!!

Aren’t these spring blooms just amazing?!

I really love that feeling of joy and excitement for new growth, color and flowers as nature awakens. Maybe if one lives in a climate with warm weather all the time, they are missing out on that? Maybe. Anyway, that is my take on braving the winter colds!! 🙂

In the meantime, I have been enjoying color explosions in my studio for sure. Still having fun with Community Sampler hosted by talented Sharon Holland and Maureen Cracknell, both designers with Art Gallery Fabrics. Block by block every week, my blocks are a accumulating and I just love the colors and prints in this Mediterraneo collection!!

Here are few new ones

and all of them so far:

Pondering a layout for them already… Of corse our hosts have one that is lovely, and I might just go with that but not before playing some more…

What do you see for these?

Oh and by the way, I just LOVE this backdrop for my blocks!! You know what that is? A fake! Just a relatively inexpensive poster backdrop you can get on Amazon!! ( like THIS one ) There are so many different looks to choose from!

I did some super cute garment sewing too – Easter dresses for my two little princesses! Ah how I love making things for them!!

This pattern is called Lacey and it is from Violet Field Threads. I just love that it is a wrap-style dress, so easy to put on and off. Fabric is Meadow collection, designed made and sold by Hawthorne Threads – I instantly fell in love with those bunnies and they had to end up on Easter dresses, don’t you think? 🙂 We even took them to see Easter Bunny himself, at beautiful Botanical Gardens here in Buffalo. Girls got lots of compliments on their dresses and this Bai’s heart just smiled… ❤

Next up – a unicorn-inspired dress for a certain birthday girl!! I can’t believe our first princess (aka miss Sassy herself, Juliana Marie), will be 4 soon!! And she loves everything about unicorns – all inspired by a beautiful book her auntie J and uncle Steve gave her, Uni the Unicorn. So far, we have unicorn blanket and pillow case, unicorn leggings and shoes, rain boots and even a tape – dispenser?! Yeah, unicorns are IN over here… Thank God for Pinterest and ideas, we have a whole collection for ideas and I am gathering all kinds of fun things for it, so stay tuned – can’t wait to show you the end result!!

Wishing you spring inspirations and sunshine, love,

Marija
