Hello everyone,
time to celebrate another beautiful fabric collection – Boscage by Katarina Roccella and Art Gallery Fabrics is here!
As always I am here to celebrate it with another quilt! This time I decided to use the same pattern I designed before, for Esoterra fabric collection. However, we quilters know that each pattern in different color and fabrics combination always looks so different, so I present to you – BORNEO NIGHTS!!
This is beginner friendly pattern that comes together quickly as blocks are fairly large (13.5″ finished) with some sashing in between. It is really good for showcasing beautiful prints, like these luscious ones from Boscage collection. Blocks are constructed using some easy strip-piecing and really come together quick. For this size, you will need to make 20 blocks (Travels to Esoterra quilt pattern was using only 12 blocks)
You can find full PDF pattern for Borneo Nights HERE
I hope you will give this quick pattern a try and of course, please share your makes with me and tag me (@mvquilts , #borneonightsquilt or #maraquiltdesigns ) in your social media posts – I would love to see them and share them! Here are some more photos and details about my quilt.
These are the colors of 50wt Aurifil threads I used – dark green was top thread for quilting and light green (teal) was the bobbin thread for quilting. For binding I used this beautiful burnt orange color. Backing fabric is also from the Boscage collection and that beautiful teal green is just amazing. (definitely planning to use it for other projects and on the front too!)
For quilting, I choose to do big, circular loops in all of the background fabrics, some tropical leaves in the luch, tropical floral and some meandering lines in the map print. Now, while I had a blast doing it, it is hardly visible on the photos but also in real life! But texture is there and that is what’s all about! 🙂
Finally, here is the stamp pf approval from my Quality Control department – I passed!!
Be sure to check out Art Gallery Fabrics’ Boscage Lookbook for much more inspiration and all kinds of projects to make with this beautiful collection.
I did not stop with the quilt and have something more and fun to share with you in a few days – stay tuned! 🙂
Happy summertime,
Love,
Marija
