There is so many things I could write about tonight – but first things fist:
It’s time for another BLOG-HOP PARTY AND A GIVEAWAY!!
Yes Michelle at the wonderful Quilting Gallery is celebrating the 5th birthday and we all get to celebrate and have fun blog-hopping, commenting and of course winning some awesome giveaways! Speaking of giveaways – here is mine:
It is a bag of real quilter’s candy – phenomenal Cherrywood Fabrics grab bag! If you ever tried it and touched it, you know what I mean, and if you didn’t – well, you really should! 🙂 It is amazing, hand dyed cotton in beautiful colors and this grab bag is awesome mix of over 50 7″x10″ pieces in so many different colors -just yummy! As a little spice to the mix, I am adding couple of spools of my favorite thread – Aurifil!
So, what do these colors inspire you to do? Do you love to use lots of colors in your quilts or just a few? Is applique your favorite thing to do? Let’s talk! – leave me a comment in this post and any next post until next Sunday, December 16th for a chance to win! Of course, if you follow this little blog of mine or my Facebook page, let me know for additional entry and chance. Let the fun begin and good luck everyone!
OK – of course I am planning to have some fun too – tutorials and ideas coming, so stay tuned! (hey, I wasn’t kidding when I said there is so much to talk about!)
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season,
Marija

I would have to try my hand at designing something special with these lovely fabrics.
I am a new follower.
I'm pretty new at quilting, but if I won your fantastic giveaway, I would try out a sampler quilt. I've mostly been doing sashes with prints and solids sqaures. Thanks for the chance to win!

I generally use tons of color… i have one work in process that is just cranberry/white and am loving it. I have a blue and white in the planning stages and a red/white/black for my son… so… I guess, it's really all over the place?
I like to do appliqué so these pieces would be perfect in my stash.
These would be so perfect for some applique which I love – along with a little piecing – make a beautiful quilt.

I haven't purchased these fabrics, but I've drooled over them a few times. I love to applique and would use them for appliqued flowers on a small AAQI quilt.

I've like your Facebook page. Thanks again for the chance.
Mary (mary.marcotte@gmail.com)
Wow! What a fabulous bundle of colorful fabric! 🙂 It depends on the quilt, but yes I love lots of colors! This would make a great rainbow quilt! I'm still working on building a stash, so don't have alot of certain colors yet and this would be awesome to fill it up. I haven't tried applique yet, as I'm just learning to quilt, but it's on my list of techniques to try. Thanks for a chance to win! 🙂
I already follow your blog via gfc and like you on fb too! 🙂
I'm a new follower!
I like a lot of colors also!
Thank you so much for the generous giveaway! Those are yummy colors. I love color in my quilts, even if it's a subdued palette I like to have a lot of variety. There are so many great solids out there but hand dyed are some of my favorites. Season's Greetings to you. 🙂
New follower through Friend Connect.
What would I make? I have a Barn-raising pattern in mind. I think it would look great in this variety of solids!
I am a huge fan of felt applique, it gives your project so much dimension.I would love to make a quilt with these!
Thanks for the chance to win a great prize package:)
I love colour–lots and lots of colour! I think that its a response to the grey rainy climate here. I don't tend to use a lot of pattern though–solid or solid-ish fabrics are the ones I turn to every time. And I prefer foundation piecing to any other quilting technique. It seems to be the only way that I can manage precise points. Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity.
Lovely colors. I would put them into a quilt.
i just signed up for email
I looooove color!! Scrappier the better! lol Am pretty new to Quilting tho…but all quilty things I have done, have just been made from scraps & pieces from my years of sewing! these would be a thrilling addition!!

I follow your blog!
I liked your FB page!
Thanks for the giveaway!!
Merry Christmas!
I do use solids but I haven't used Cherrywood fabrics. They look lovely.
I love using lots of colours in my quilts if appropriate or a small pallete of colour but different fabrics in those colours. Scrappy quilts are also great fun to make.
Your give away is amazing
I tend to use just a few colors in each of my quilts…but I do enjoy looking at scrap quilts. Thanks for being so generous.
i tend to always pick my favorite colors for a project – cool colors, blue, purple, etc. I'm trying to branch out into warmer colors.
Great giveaway! I think the colours I use depend on my mood but I do love bright colours 🙂
I am following on facbook

These look like an addition any quilter would like to add to her stash. thanks for a wonderful giveaway. I love using lots of colours in my quilts, and make them scrappy looking. Thanks!
Nice fabrics and really wonderful colors. I've never worked with solids only so it would be my first solid quilt. A string quilt would look nice.
What a generous giveaway! I love doing scrappy quilts with lots of colors, but sometimes you just have to have a project with a solid color theme. Thanks for the chance to win.
Pretty colors! Cherrywood feels so good. I like many colors and scrappy quilts.
I am new follower from Italy. hugs Alessandra
So pretty! I would make a quilt for MYSELF (and no one else)!

Following you on facebook and Pinterest!
I LOVE color! I also love hand-dyed. Great giveaway!
Great colours!! I'm a new quilter – I don't have much in the way of solids, so these would be wonderful. I love the gorgeous blooms quilt in your header – I'd love to try something like that in solids sometime!
Thanks for the chance and Merry Christmas!!
I follow using GFC!
Thank you for participating and for your great giveaway!
I'm now following you on Pinterest.
I love to use lots of colors in my quilts – and I hardly ever remember to buy solids. Those are beautiful!
I follow you on facebook
I mostly needle turn appliqué and I am quilting of using lots of color. I am having a giveaway too. Thank you for the chance.
I definitely love color in quilts! Thanks for the giveaway!
I like bright colours but not necessarily lots of different colours in one project. I bought some of their fabric at Houston, it is lovely! My pack had yellow/red/orange in it, but there were so many lovely colours to choose from! Thanks for the giveaway!
Just love all the colors. I am new follower.
I am a new follower
I have been using LOTS of colors, but now that I've been quilting for almost a year I am trying to get more focused and keep it to 4 or less per quilt. Thank you for the giveaway, very curious about how those fabrics feel!
For me; color depends on the pattern I am making…for some I might use 2 colors; others could be very colorful…
I am a new follower
That would be an awesome addition to my stash, sure to be used in a future quilt…thanks for the chance to win!!
Awesome giveaway of gorgeous fabrics! I have very few solids in my little stash and would love to add them in. I tend to follow patterns for the most part and use however many colors are called for. Thanks for the chance.
I was just saying I would like to try a quilt with all solids. This giveaway is perfect!
I am a new follower on google reader.
Never heard of these fabrics but the colors are saying I need to make an Amish inspired quilt. They are bright and bold and beautiful. Thanks for the chance.
I am now a follower on FB and GFC. Love finding new blogs thru hops.
I like quilts with a limited number of fabrics. I would like to try those fabrics, I haven't seen them before.
When I first started quilting 30 years ago, I loved the appliqueing way. Now.. I can't think of any applique to do! So I stick with learning the new techniques…HST's, scrappy quilts, strips etc. My favorite is HST..amazing what you can do with a little double colored square!
Thanks for the chance!

I would like to try a picture quilt using lots of questions.
How exciting! Thank you for the chance to win.
ktreve (at) hotmail (dot) com
Gorgeous fabrics! I would make a quilt with them. Maybe using them for applique or maybe just piecing them. I'd sure like to feel them though! Thanks for a great giveaway.
I like using just a few colors!
I just learned how to sew/quilt in October, so I've only made one quilt which was composed of browns, greens, and blues. I plan on making another quilt which will be composed of reds, golds, greens, and browns. I love the way that color looks, but I am a little worried that I will mess it up!
It depends. Some quilts only have a couple hours. Thanks for chance to win.
Thanks for the chance to win and color is my thing. I did touch cherrywood fabric at a quilt show and it felt good.
I like both, I love scrappy quilts and also I like two colour quilts… some people would say I am easily pleased 🙂
I have never heard of Cherrywood fabrics but those colors are stunning. Since I work by hand, those would last a long time and I am drafting a "someday" Baltimore album quilt right now. Wouldn't they look great against white?
first of all I love cherrywood fabrics – but now I dye my own mostly – I try to limit my palette but make sure I have every value of those colors in a quilt – also all sorts of saturations – it really adds a lot of interest to quilts. I can't believe how much stronger my work is since I started limiting my palettes – it makes a huge difference.
I love making quilts with tons of colors. Thanks for the very generous giveaway
GFC & FB follower
I love color, and lots of it! These fabrics would be wonderful for applique.
Well, I am a very tactile person so I am sure those pieces would sit beside me for awhile and I would just touch them. LOL I love lots of color in my quilts but not too many patterns so those would be perfect for me. Thanks for your generous prize.
I tend to stick to a color theme when I quilt.
Those fabrics make me want to do an art quilt. I can just see using that green in front for grass and maybe a few tree tops.
I am now following you via GFC as VettekLisa
What gorgeous fabrics! I'd love to touch them, too! I have so many prints in my stash, but not nearly enough solids. Thank you for the generous giveaway. I'd like to try a landscape quilt.
I am now following you by e-mail.
I have never used hand dyed fabrics, not sure what project they will end up in,
Looks like a box of crayons! fun fabric.
Hi, I'm new follower #123. YAY!
You're right Cherrywood fabrics are amazing. Years ago when I started quilting, I saw them at a quilt show. They were so soft and what a beautiful selection of colors they have. Thanks so much for such a generous giveaway. You must be a strong person to giveaway this fabric. ;->
Wow beautiful. I'd love to use lots of colors in my quilts, but I just don't have that many fabrics right now.
My quilts are mostly colorful, but I love monochromatic as well.

Your giveaway is very generous. Thank you for a chance to enter your giveaway. Those fabirc colors make me think autumn…They make me think of a nice warm throw quilt to put on the couch to cover with on chilly evenings curled up with a book.
conn_and_vans_mom(at)yahoo(dot)com
I'm much more of a piecer, but I'm all over the place when it comes to techniques. Cherrywood fabrics are so lucious that I'd just piece the squares together in a 9 patch quilt!
I like lots of color and love Auriful… thanks for a great giveaway! I've been wanting to do more applique so that's what I 'd do with these beauties.
I have always wanted to try their fabric. I mainly use solids as backgrounds and just love Aurfil thread – it's the only thing I use to piece.
Gorgeous colours. i love bright, fresh colours. Thanks for the opportunity on a great draw and have a very Merry Christmas. bonnielarson58@gmail.com
This looks very interesting. Thanks for being in this fun blog hop.
Wow! what a very generous giveaway! I love to make scrappy quilts. I also love to applique and do embroidery on my quilts and I love lots of color. Thank you for participating.
I've never used Cherrywood Fabrics or Aurifil thread. With any luck, I'll get my chance – thanks to your generous giveaway. I'm still partial to 2-color quilts and (just the opposite) scrappies with all the wonderful '30 prints.
Liked you on Facebook:)
Usually I don't use a lot of different colors and I love pink. Your fabrics are inspiring for a whatercolor quilt I always wanted to sew. Thank you.
What a fabulous giveaway! I would use them in a quilt made of stars, I think. Lovely rich scrappy stars.
I prefer hand piecing over just about anything, although I do a little machine piecing as well.
I follow your blog via Google Reader.
Wow, so beautiful! Sometimes I choose just one or two colors for a quilt, and sometimes I like to go really colorful!
I love lots of colour. I think it's why I like scrappy quilts, just lots of colour.

I really like to do everything…one of my problems:) haha!!!
I would prob use these beauties in an applique project of some sort….just lovely!
I love to use color!
follower! woot!!
Quantity of color for me depends on the feel of the quilt. If it works with the piece and I have it… the more color the better:) But I DO LOVE hand dyes..yummy.
I've never used Cherrywood or Aurifil and really want to. I tend towards a modern quilting style and use bright, clear colors. Thanks for participating in the Blog Hop Party.
These are gorgeous!! I'm dying to try EPP hexagons – or possibly diamonds – and these just look crazy perfect for that. 🙂
I tend to use only a few colors in a quilt, but it all really depends on the quilt. I have made a baby quilt in a rainbow of fabrics 🙂
I'm a follower 🙂
i love using modern fabrics in my quilts
I love colours in my quilts. I haven't tried applique yet but these lovely fabrics could certainly be the start of an appliqued quilt. Merry Christmas!

Cherrywood fabric is like butta!
Oh pretty! I like to use colors but I'm slowly trying to figure out what colors go well togther. It's so funny how something that I just don't think will work looks amazing when you only have a splash of it. . I need more finishes to really get it down.

I also do Paper piecing, piecing, etc.
I have not felt those fabrics before. I will have to check them out.
I do love lots of color in my quilts. The more the merrier.
I use every color I can squeeze into a quilt. I typically will use close to 300-400 different fabrics in a quilt. The more, the merrier I always say.
Those colors inspire me to put more colors into my quilt, that green is amazing. Thanks. Vivian
They would definitely create an amazing rainbow quilt…something small, like a mini! Thank you.
I love color in my quilts. I should probably learn to tone it down a bit. Thanks for the chance to win such a generous giveaway!
WOW! I am stunned by your generosity. I would need to stare and hold these beautiful fabrics for a long time before ever making them into a project. They are beautiful. Thank you for the opportunity to win. A landscape quilt, however, comes right to mind the more I look at my future prize. (HA!)
