Good Wednesday morning my friends!
Weekend was a busy one in holiday preps and family life and since I am still not ahead in my blog post writings, I am trying to catch up now and get back on schedule… story of my life? Ha, ha , something like that for sure! One of these days I will get ahead…I promise I am trying! 🙂
Our lovely 31 day Blog Writing Challenge has prompts about favorite color and least favorite color… now that is yet another topics I love to talk about or think about! And I do, often… And here is the deal – I really can’t say now that I have a favorite color!! And I definitely do NOT have the least favorite color either! Really. However, when I just started quilting many years ago I was definitely, sage green, dusty rose and beige kinda girl… really!! Surprised? You likely would not say that today, based on the quilts I make, right? Like this one…
Or this one?
Or my Blooming Prairie quilt…
So I think it is safe to say – I love COLOR!! Beautiful bold, vibrant colors, and pretty much ALL COLORS. How did that happen? Well, I think that I always loved colors, have always been inspired my amazing colors in nature, but only after I found quilting as my creative outlet – I found my voice in color. And as so much amazing fabrics is being designed and created, how can one not love every color? Pastel ones too! I love pastel colors and when inspiration comes, they are just as past of my voice. Like Blithe fabric collection by Katarina Roccella that so perfectly invoked winter hues that I love so much…
Can’t you just see all these colors in the cold, crisp winter morning, when you walk your beloved pups? I can…
Or when your first grandbaby is coming and mom wants pale pinks and grays, “I love you Peaches” quilt is born…
And that very special quilt has a story of course, you can read it HERE.
So that is my favorite-least favorite colors story my friends! I could talk about it forever but I am even more curious to know what is your color story?
On to the busy day ahead, see you all back here tomorrow!
Love,
Marija
